About the Rwanda Young Women SRHR Network

The Rwanda Young Women Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Network is a coalition dedicated to advancing young women’s SRHR by amplifying their voices, influencing policies, and strengthening grassroots advocacy. The Network works with young women-led civil society organizations and key stakeholders to ensure that young
women and girls in Rwanda have access to comprehensive SRHR information and services.

Role Summary
The Focal Person will serve as the primary liaison for the Network, supporting coordination, advocacy, and engagement efforts to strengthen the advancement for SRHR. She will work closely with the Network Steering Committee Network members to ensure the effective implementation of programs, advocacy strategies, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, she must ensure that Network activities are well conducted and contribute to the sustainability of the Network through effective resource mobilization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Network Coordination & Program Implementation
    – Support the strategic implementation of the Network’s activities.
    – Facilitate coordination among Network members, partners, and stakeholders.
    – Oversee the planning and execution of SRHR advocacy campaigns, events, and
    capacity-building initiatives.
    – Ensure that Network activities are well conducted, monitored, and documented.
    – Support the development of Network policies, guidelines, and operational
    strategies.
  2. Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement
    – Represent the Network in national, regional, and international SRHR advocacy
    platforms.
    – Build and maintain relationships with Network members, civil society organizations,
    government entities, and development partners to enhance the Network’s influence.
    – Support policy advocacy efforts by engaging decision-makers and mobilizing young
    women’s voices.
    – Facilitate collaboration among Network members to strengthen collective advocacy
    efforts.
  3. Resource Mobilization & Sustainability
    – Develop and implement resource mobilization strategies to secure funding for
    Network activities.
    – Identify and pursue funding opportunities from donors, grants, and partnerships.
    – Support proposal writing and donor engagement efforts to ensure the sustainability
    of the Network.
    – Strengthen financial and administrative processes related to resource mobilization.
  4. Communications & Knowledge Management
    – Ensure effective communication within the Network and among stakeholders.
    – Support the development of reports, position papers, and advocacy materials.
    – Maintain and update the Network’s knowledge base, ensuring that key SRHR
    resources are accessible.
    – Promote visibility and awareness of the Network’s activities through strategic
    communication.

Qualifications & Experience
* A bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Social
Sciences, or a related field.
* At least 3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in the field of
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), gender advocacy, or youth
empowerment.
* Strong knowledge of SRHR policies, frameworks, and advocacy strategies in
Rwanda.
* Proven experience in resource mobilization, including fundraising, grant writing, and
partnership development.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda (French
is an added advantage).
* Experience in working with youth networks, civil society organizations, and
advocacy coalitions is highly desirable.
* Strong organizational, leadership, and coordination skills.
