NYIRACUMI Jeanne
24 Years Old
Born with a disability, it took a toll on Jeanne’s parents to fully embrace her diversity. Jeanne had a dream of becoming a medical doctor, a dream that crashed due to her family financial status. She couldn’t pursue her education in science after passing the National Exam for she could not afford the tuition of the science school. Jeanne’s hope for the future awakened when she joined Tekana Hub, pursuing training in entrepreneurship and crafting. She is able to make hand crafted decors which earns her money to keep her family intact. Jeanne is also saving to pursue her University studies in Rural Development and Sociology. Supporting Jeanne’s awakened dream is a testament that girls and young women with disabilities can also dream big and excel.
