Impanuro Gils Initiative (IGI) is a young women led non-profit organization operating in Rwanda since 2017, Striving to improve women and girls lives through education, capacity building, counseling, socio economic empowerment and advocacy to ensure a health and dignified lifestyle.

Impanuro Girls Initiative (IGI) is inviting passionate and qualified young people to apply for the position of Project Lead to support the implementation of SRHR-related projects. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful change in the lives of adolescents in school and out-of-school young women with compounded vulnerabilities.

Role summary

The Project Lead will be a key driver of SRHR-related projects’ success at the community level. The role involves nurturing safe spaces for adolescents in school and out-of-school young women, supporting their engagement, learning, and personal development. The Project Lead will lead advocacy efforts on sexual and reproductive health and rights and ensure meaningful participation of adolescents and young women with compounded vulnerabilities. The role is vital in ensuring that project activities are both impactful and sustainable across the communities served. It also involves collaborating closely with parents, local leaders, schools, health centers, and other community stakeholders to build a supportive environment where adolescents and young women feel safe, informed, and supported.

Key Responsibilities

1. SRHR Project Implementation
  • Ensure all planned activities under SRHR-related projects are implemented effectively and on schedule.
  • Nurture and support adolescents in school and out-of-school young women through weekly sessions and other engagement activities.
  • Conduct trainings on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
  • Document findings, success stories, and lessons learned from all project activities.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Represent Impanuro Girls Initiative (IGI) in meetings and forums within target communities.
  • Engage parents and community champions through local structures (e.g., Inteko z’Abaturage) to encourage active participation.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to co-develop sustainability plans and ensure continuity of impact.
3. Communication and Knowledge Sharing
  • Maintain effective communication among all project participants to ensure smooth information flow.
  • Prepare detailed activity reports and submit them promptly to the supervisor.
  • Share relevant knowledge, insights, and feedback to improve project implementation and overall project impact.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in working directly with young people, particularly in training and facilitating sessions on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
  • Proven ability to engage and mentor adolescents and young women, especially those with compounded vulnerabilities.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and community engagement skills
  • Experience in grassroots advocacy and working with community structures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an added advantage).
  • Strong leadership, and coordination skills.
