Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA) is a pan-African feminist leadership development organization founded in 1985
by a group of African Women living in the diaspora, who remained keenly aware of their African roots and the need
to organize autonomously. Akina Mama wa Afrika means Solidarity among African Women. - Make Way Programme
The Make Way programme aims to break down barriers to SRHR by applying an intersectional lens. Making
overlapping vulnerabilities visible helps Make Way to understand their effects on a person’s SRHR. Make Way
develops and shares intersectional tools, and also engages in mutual capacity strengthening with other civil society
organisations, to advocate for much-needed policy and societal changes.
Assignment Overview
The general objective of this assignment is to create a Youth manifesto that highlights the rights and needs of youth
with compounded vulnerabilities. The Manifesto will serve as a key advocacy tool, guiding policymakers, civil
society organizations, and the general public in addressing these challenges.
Scope of Work and Key Tasks
The consultant will:
Conduct consultations with girls, young women, and key stakeholders to gather insights on barriers to
SRHR.
Analyze national SRHR laws and policies to identify gaps and opportunities.
Draft a comprehensive and inclusive Youth Manifesto.
Present key findings and recommendations to IGI and Make Way partners.
Compile a final consultancy report detailing the process, findings, and deliverables.
Consultant Profile – Who Should Apply?
We are looking for a passionate and experienced consultant or firm with:
i. Proven knowledge and a minimum of Five years of experience in the SRHR field, including working with youth
with compounded vulnerabilities.
ii. Demonstrated experience and understanding of SRHR laws, policies, and advocacy within the Rwandan context.
iii. Ability to gather insights from girls and young women regarding the barriers they face in accessing SRHR
services, compile a comprehensive report for presentation to Make Way partners, and incorporate these insights
into the manifesto creation.

Time Frame
The duration of the service is 1 month (June 2025).

- The technical proposal including Methodology
- The financial proposal,
- The samples of previous relevant similar work;
- The updated CV highlighting relevant experience and three professional references;
- Cover letter detailing interest in the role and relevant qualifications.
