Impanuro Gils Initiative (IGI) is a young women led non-profit organization operating in Rwanda
since 2017, Striving to improve women and girls lives through education, capacity building,
counseling, socio economic empowerment and advocacy to ensure a health and dignified lifestyle.
Impanuro Girls Initiative (IGI) is seeking to invite passionate and qualified young people to apply
for the position of Field Officer under the Imenye Wikunde Project, an adolescent Sexual and
Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project implemented by IGI in partnership with Kvinna till
Kvinna (KTK). This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful change in the lives of
adolescents with compounded vulnerabilities.

partner organizations in 20 countries to defend women’s rights, achieve gender equality and justice
and reach lasting feminist peace.

Role summary
The Field Officer will be a key driver of Imenye Wikunde Project’s success at the community level.
She will nurture and support Imenye Champions through weekly club sessions, lead advocacy
efforts on SRHR, and ensure meaningful engagement of adolescents with compounded
vulnerabilities. Her role will be vital in making sure project activities are both impactful and
sustainable in Gahara Sector and beyond. She will also collaborate closely with parents, local
leaders, schools, health centers, and community stakeholders to build a supportive environment for
adolescents where they feel safe and supported.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Imenye Wikunde Project Implementation
     Ensure all planned activities under the Imenye Wikunde Project are implemented effectively
    and on schedule.
     Provide ongoing mentorship and support to adolescents through weekly Imenye Club sessions
     Conduct refresher trainings on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and GenderBased Violence (GBV).
     Document findings, success stories, and lessons learned from all project activities.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement
     Represent Impanuro Girls Initiative (IGI) in local meetings within Kirehe District.
     Engage Mumenye Champions (parents) through Inteko z’Abaturage to encourage community
    participation.
     Collaborate with project stakeholders to co-develop and support sustainability plans for the
    project.
  2. Communication and Knowledge Sharing
     Maintain effective communication among all project participants to ensure smooth information
    flow.
     Prepare detailed activity reports and submit them promptly to the supervisor.
     Share relevant knowledge and feedback to improve project implementation and impact.

Qualifications & Experience
 A bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, or
a related field.
 At least 3 years of experience in working directly with young people, particularly in training and
facilitating sessions on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
 Proven ability to engage and mentor adolescents, especially those with compounded
vulnerabilities.
 Strong facilitation, communication, and community engagement skills
 Experience in grassroots advocacy and working with community structures
 Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an
added advantage).
 Strong leadership, and coordination skills.
